GETTING STARTED

How do I setup an account?

New customers can setup an account while simultaneously accepting their first offer. Previous customers will be prompted to setup an account upon if one doesn’t exist already. If you are a previous customer, and you don't know your password, please request a password.

How do I access my account and offers?

You can access your account 24/7 by clicking the My Account icon located on the upper right corner of our website. Your account page enables you to track the status of current offers, update your address or password, and view your offer history.

What types of items can I sell to Jay Brokers?

Jay Brokers makes offers on just about any item over $100 that is relatively easy to ship. Check out our list of common categories. If you cannot find your item in our database, please request a personalized offer.

How long does it take to get an offer?

If your item is in our database of popular products, you can get a cash offer instantly within minutes. Try searching for your item with the make, manufacturer, and/or model such as “Apple iPhone X 256GB Verizon.” For more unique or specialized items please request a personalized offer, and you will receive a response within 24 hours (during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 AM-6 PM EST, excludes holidays).

Does Jay Brokers erase my personal data on items?

Yes. At Jay Brokers we treat our customers’ data as if was our own. A standard data erasing procedure is completed on all items to remove all personal and private information.

What if my item has defects or imperfections?

No problem at all. Jay Brokers will calculate an offer based on the defects or imperfections you describe. We just ask customers to disclose defects upfront to avoid surprises later.

What is the difference between Poor Condition, Average Condition, and Excellent Condition?

Poor Condition: Heavy signs of wear and tear are present. This includes any of the following defects: chips, cracks, dents, warped casing, missing parts, deep scratches, or dirt.
Average Condition: Typical signs of wear and tear are present. This includes slightly worn finishes, minor scuff marks, and faint scratches, but no missing/loose parts, chips, dents, or cracks.
Excellent Condition: Virtually no signs of wear and tear are present. Item looks like new with no flaws or imperfections.

What is the difference between Major Defects, Minor Defects, and Fully Functional?

Major Defects: Item does not function properly and one or all of its major components such as the screen, motherboard, or storage may be defective; item may not power on.
Minor Defects: Item is functional and in working condition, but one or two minor components or features such as the battery, operating system, or vibration do not function properly.
Fully Functional: Item is fully functional in good working order with no defects or imperfections.

What if Jay Brokers disagrees with my evaluation of the item?

We don’t play games or gimmicks, but if an item sent to Jay Brokers is not as described with defects or imperfections that will affect its value, Jay Brokers will make an adjusted offer based on the discrepancies. For customers' peace of mind, Jay Brokers provides photo or video evidence of discrepancies. Customers then have the option to accept the adjusted offer, or Jay Brokers will return the item free of charge (via UPS Ground).

How long are offers valid?

All offers are valid for 14 days from the date of issue, meaning you just need a drop-off or pick-up scan on or prior to the expiration date.

What happens to my item once it reaches Jay Brokers?

Within 24 hours the item will be tested and inspected to verify the contents and functionality. All data is erased by reformatting hard drives and/or erasing memory (where applicable). You can track the status of your transaction 24/7 via the My Account page.

Does Jay Brokers buy lost or stolen items?

Absolutely not! If you attempt to sell Jay Brokers lost or stolen items, you will be reported to the appropriate law enforcement. Jay Brokers utilizes state and national databases of lost and stolen property to identify ineligible items.

Does Jay Brokers buy bulk or large quantities of identical items?

Yes. The larger the quantity of the same item, the lower each unit is worth individually. If you have multiple quantities of the same item, please request a personalized offer. Offers generated instantly are only valid for a quantity of one item per month.

What if I receive a higher offer from another company?

Jay Brokers strives to make offers as high as possible for all customers, but let us know if you receive a higher offer. If you receive a higher offer from another company and it sounds too good to be true, it may be, especially if the offer is equal to or higher than the current fair market value for your item.

How old do I have to be to request an offer or proceed with a transaction?

18 years or older. Jay Brokers is unable to make offers or correspond with minors under the age of 18.

Does Jay Brokers accommodate corporations and institutions?

How long does it take to get paid?

All payments are processed and sent out within 24 hours of receiving your item on the next business day (during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 AM-6 PM EST, excludes holidays). Payment via First Class Mail ranges from 2-10 days. Payment via UPS Next Day Air requires 1 business day. Payment via PayPal is instant. Payments sent as an Amazon gift card are also instant.

Does Jay Brokers offer expedited payment options?

Yes. Jay Brokers offers payment via UPS Next Day Air (1 business day), PayPal (instant), and Amazon Gift Card (instant). The upgraded cost to ship via UPS Next Day Air is deducted from your payment total and costs approximately $20-$30 for most destinations.

Does Jay Brokers pay for shipping?

Yes. Jay Brokers provides a free pre-paid UPS shipping label. You can drop off your package at any UPS Store or UPS drop-off location.

Is the free shipping insured against loss or damage? What about signature on delivery?

Yes, packages are insured against loss or damage in transit up to $999 per package, but keep in mind insurance claims are only valid when adequate packaging is used. Items must be packaged with at least 2" of bubble wrap, peanuts, or foam surrounding the item and firmly placed in the box, unable to move around. If an item arrives damaged due to inadequate packaging UPS will not reimburse for damage even though the package is insured. Packages are delivered with an electronic signature recorded, ensuring the package has been received and signed for. We recommend requesting a drop-off receipt when shipping your item so you have a timestamped record.

Can I ship multiple items together?

Absolutely! You can combine as many items that will fit safely into a single box using one of our prepaid labels. Each prepaid label is good for one package and one use with a unique tracking number on it, so if you need more than one label please let us know.

How does Jay Brokers handle shipping fraud, fake products, and scam orders?

Do you offer trades?

Yes, we are glad to accept trades against purchases of items in our Online Store or in our eBay and Amazon storefronts. We still treat it as two separate transactions, so you can either buy the “new” item first, or wait till after selling the “old” item. You can purchase the “new” item in one of our storefronts.
